The training facility for the Argentine Football Association in Ezeiza, which had been named after Humberto Grondona since 2014, has been renamed in honor of World Cup victor Lionel Messi.
With Claudio Tapia in charge, the AFA honored its star player by renaming the three-story building in his honor. The PSG player expressed his appreciation for the nod.
Messi said, “I’m really grateful for this acknowledgment; it’s incredibly meaningful for me.”
“I’ve been coming here for about 20 years, and the moment I stepped inside, I sensed a very unique aura.”
“This area is incredible, and I still believe that the spirit here is something extremely special every time I visit.”
