Champions League: Bayern thrashes Salzburg 8-2 in two legged pre quarter finals

German club Bayern Munich have reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Bayern entered the quarterfinals with a 7-1 victory over Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in the second leg of the last-16 this morning and 8-2 overall.

Robert Lewandowski completed a hat-trick in Bayern’s victory at the Allianz Arena. Thomas Muller scored twice and Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane scored 1 goal each.

Mauritius Kjaergaard scored one goal for Salzburg. In the 12th and 21st minutes of the game, Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot to give Bayern a 2-0 lead. In which Lewandowski did not miss.

Lewandowski completed a hat-trick in the 23rd minute to give the home side a 3-0 lead. Gnabry scored in the 31st minute to give Bayern a comfortable 4-0 lead in the first half.

Muller’s goal in the 54th minute gave Bayern a 5-0 lead. Kjaergaard made it 5-1 in the 70th minute. In the 83rd minute, Muller scored the second individual goal and the sixth for the team.

Sane scored in the 85th minute to give Bayern a 7–1 victory. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
