English club Liverpool has won the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League. Liverpool beat Italian club Inter Milan 2-0 at Inter’s home on Wednesday night.
Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored to give Liverpool the win in the competitive game. Both goals were scored in the second half.
Firmino scored in the 75th minute to give Liverpool the lead. He headed in a corner from Andy Robertson. Salah scored in the 83rd minute to give Liverpool a 2-0 victory.
Despite putting pressure on Liverpool in the game, Inter could not score. Liverpool made 54 per cent of the ball possession and hit 13 shots in 2 shots while Inter hit 9 shots with no shot on frame.
The second leg between the two will take place at Anfield on March 8.
