The Portuguese striker sent his “condolences” to Pele’s family before adding that he “reciprocated” all of the love Pele had showed him over the course of his career.
Many players, past and present, joined his daughter Kely Nascimento in sending their own heartfelt messages following the tragic news on Thursday, December 29. Pele passed away at the age of 82 after a battle with colon cancer.

Pele and Ronaldo got along well, with the former frequently sending the latter encouraging messages throughout his career.
In a message of congratulations sent to Ronaldo earlier in 2022, the legendary player from Brazil said he was looking forward to seeing him after the 37-year-old won a special FIFA award for breaking the mark for most goals scored by an international player.
