According to rumors, negotiations between Arsenal and Gabriel Martinelli over a new deal are in their “final stages.”

The Brazilian’s contract with the Gunners expires in the summer of 2024, but there is a 12-month extension option.

The league’s top team wants to reward the winger for his excellent play.

Martinelli scored his sixth goal in the victory for West Ham, matching his total from the entire previous season in the Premier League.

Currently making £90,000 per week, his proposed new contract would increase his income to £200,000 per week.

Martinelli is reportedly “coming closer” to committing his long-term future to the Emirates club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Centre-back Gabriel, who inked a long-term agreement in North London back in October, was the most recent member of the Arsenal team to sign a new contract.

Romano also thinks that the Gunners want to safeguard the destiny of other players.

William Saliba, Bukayo Saka, and Martinelli are reportedly “priorities” for Mikel Arteta’s team.

While Saka has been on fire at the top of the pitch, Saliba has been crucial in helping Arsenal tighten up at the back.

Only Newcastle has more clean sheets in the league than the Gunners’ seven, thanks to the Frenchman’s incredible performances.

In contrast, Saka has made 11 goal-related contributions in his 15 games.
