Jose Mourinho offered record breaking fee to move to middle east

International

Throughout his career, Jose Mourinho has held some of the most important positions, including those at Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid.

The Saudi Arabia national team coach, however, has reportedly been offered a deal to lead that team, which would make him the highest-paid manager ever, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

He might possibly decide to visit Al-Nassr to catch up with Cristiano Ronaldo.

While in the Italian city, the Portuguese manager led his team to the European Conference League championship.

Currently tied for fifth place in Serie A with Inter Milan on points, Roma is also very much in contention to play in the Champions League next year.

Mourinho demands assurances

Although Mourinho has a contract with the club through 2024 and there are encouraging signs for the upcoming campaign, he may quit the organization before that time.

The fact that Mourinho wanted to talk about his future with the Roma board, as reported by Corriere dello Sport last month, suggests that he wanted to stay at the club.

But they also stated that if the coach was to complete his contract, he sought assurances.

The two-time Champions League champion demanded a new center-midfielder, a new center-back, and a new striker to take the place of Tammy Abraham, an Englishman. Mourinho wanted the assurance of new signings.

That leaves his future uncertain because there is currently no agreement in place.

A record-breaking coaching offer for Saudi Arabia

However, recent stories in Corriere dello Sport have raised more questions about Mourinho’s possible post-summer plans.

Following Hervé Renard’s resignation, the Portuguese manager has reportedly been offered a £100 million contract to lead Saudi Arabia’s national team.

Mourinho would be paid £50 million annually, and he would have the option of staying or leaving after the first year to coach Saudi Arabia in the 2026 World Cup in the Americas.

If Mourinho accepted the offer, it would break all previous records for coach compensation.

Maybe meeting Cristiano Ronaldo again?

Mourinho may be able to reunite with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr and coach at the club level in Saudi Arabia, according to the Italian press.

With Real Madrid, the two collaborated for three years, during which time Ronaldo scored 148 goals in all competitions under Mourinho.

Both parties respect one another, as evidenced by Ronaldo’s declaration that Mourinho was the finest coach he had ever played for in 2015.

According to The Evening Standard, he stated, “I would put him at the top.”

Additionally, Mourinho cherished his time spent with the attacker, calling it the “highlight of my career” to train Ronaldo.
