Kathmandu: In the previous game, Barcelona had a great victory over Atletico Madrid, but in the Catalan derby, Barcelona barely escaped defeat. In Sunday night’s game against Espanyol, Dutch striker Luke de Jong scored in the last second of injury time to give Barcelona a 2-2 draw.
Barcelona’s Pedri and Luke de Yong scored while Espanyol’s Sergei Dardar and Raul de Tomas scored. The game had two equal goals in both halves.
Barcelona took the lead first. Pedri took the lead with a goal from Jordi Alba’s pass. Sergei Dardar equalized for Espanyol in the 40th minute.Raul de Tomas scored in the 64th minute to give Espanyol a 2–1 lead in the second half.
Towards the end of the dramatic game, two players from Espanyol and one from Barcelona received red cards, and in the end, Barcelona returned the goal. Gerard Pique of Barcelona and Nico Melamed of Espanyol received red cards in injury time.
Luke de Jong, who then entered the field as a substitute, scored on a pass from Adama Traore in injury time to give Barcelona one point. After that, Manu Morlanes of Espanyol also got a red card and ended the game with 9 players.
After the draw, Barcelona is in the fourth place with 39 points while Espanyol is in the 13th place with 28 points.
