Argentine star striker Lionel Messi has extended his contract with PSG. Extending the contract that ended in December 2022, he will remain at PSG in the 2023–24 season as well.

The French daily newspaper Le Parisien disclosed this on Wednesday.

Messi, 35, is a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. His team won the World Cup by defeating France in a penalty shootout in the FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.

Messi’s contract expired at the beginning of December. “His contract has been extended for at least one year,” the newspaper wrote while revealing the source.

PSG has not openly commented on this matter. PSG president Nasir Al-Khelafi said last month, “Messi was happy because he was the League One champion.” There will be talk about extending his contract after the World Cup.

Captain Messi, who won this year’s World Cup for Argentina, scored 12 goals and had 14 assists for PSG this season.
