Bruno Fernandes appears to be a major question mark for Manchester United’s matchup with Tottenham after his wife posted a photo of him wearing a protective boot.

In the first half of United’s triumph over Brighton in the FA Cup semifinal penalty shootout, the Portuguese international appeared to pick up a knock.

Fernandes stayed on the field until the 101st minute, at which point Wout Weghorst took his place.

On Monday night, Fernandes’ wife Ana Pinho shared a snapshot on her Instagram story that will cause great alarm for United supporters as they strive to finish in the top four.

Fernandes is depicted in the image on her story as lying on a sofa with his right leg raised on a stack of three pillows. A protective boot and a set of crutches are on the floor next to him, and his ankle is strapped.

The Man United player’s Instagram image was captioned by Ana with the phrase “Recharging.”

Concerns about Fernandes the Portuguese midfielder were raised on Sunday when it appeared like he was limping out of Wembley.

According to his wife’s photo, Fernandes is unlikely to participate in Thursday’s match against Spurs.
