Lionel Messi has returned to Paris Saint-Germain after a few weeks of celebration.
On Wednesday, the 35-year-old formally returned to the team’s practice facility. After Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar, he got a long break.
PSG employees gave Messi a Guard of Honor, and the team also gave him an unique medal in honor of his accomplishments on the world stage.
There was no sign of Neymar in the video showing Messi receiving a hero’s welcome.
It was questioned whether the Brazilian superstar, whose World Cup campaign ended in sadness, would want to celebrate his colleague winning the biggest football award over him.
He was there, albeit it was difficult to see him in the video, and that hypothesis was entirely disproved when a different video showed Neymar introducing Messi to him in the PSG locker room.
Neymar tells Messi:
“How are you, champion of the world?”
The video has obviously been very popular on social media…
Neymar’s video greeting to World Cup victor Messi:
To be very honest, we should have anticipated this interaction. Since their time at Barcelona, Neymar has made it abundantly apparent how much he loves Messi.
Neymar even paid homage to the hero of Argentina’s arch-rivals France after the South Americans defeated France in the World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium.
He posted “Felicidades Hermano,” which is Spanish for “Congratulations Brother,” on Twitter. A staggering 2.6 million people liked the post.

Next Wednesday, when PSG hosts Angers in Ligue 1, Neymar and Messi will resuming their deadly duo.
The two South American masters have both been in fantastic form this season, putting up some truly astounding stats.
While Messi’s current domestic record for 2022/23 reads 12 goals and 14 assists from just 19 appearances, Neymar has 15 goals and 13 assists in 21 games.
