London: Two goals from captain Harry Kane have given Tottenham a comfortable 5-0 win over relegation-threatened Everton on Monday, boosting their chances of being in the top four of the English Premier League.
Tottenham were knocked out of the last 16 of the FA Cup. Tottenham took the lead in the 14th minute through a suicide goal by Everton’s Michael Keane. Three minutes later, Heung Min Son doubled Tottenham’s lead. Kane’s goal in the 37th minute gave Antonio Conte a 3-0 lead in the first half.
Sergio Reguilon’s goal in the 46th minute gave Tottenham a comfortable victory. With Kane scoring his second individual goal in the 55th minute, Conte’s side maintained their chances of reaching the top four with a comfortable victory.
Tottenham are seventh with 45 points from 26 games. Which is only three points lower than fourth-placed Arsenal. Fifth-placed Manchester United have 47 points and sixth-placed West Ham have 45 points.
Everton coach Frank Lampard is under pressure due to his poor performance. Everton are 17th with 22 points from 25 games. Which is one point higher than 18th-ranked Burnley and three points higher than 19th-ranked Watford.
Everton have lost 14 of their last 18 league games. Conte’s side will climb to fourth place if they beat United at Old Trafford on Saturday. Everton will host Wolverhampton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
