The Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr. is considered one of the world’s best footballers, as long as he is not injured. In a recent interview with GOAL, Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender for Chelsea, described why he believes Neymar is one of the most challenging opponents he has ever faced.

Koulibaly had the opportunity to defend against Neymar in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2018, where Napoli faced Paris Saint-Germain twice, and both games ended in draws. Despite this, Koulibaly, a 31-year-old veteran defender, was impressed by Neymar’s performance.

Koulibaly stated in the interview, “He’s amazing with the ball, tricks everything, really intelligent. He dribbled a lot. He [has] a good passing, good shooting. You know, that’s why he’s one of the best.” Koulibaly also shared that it is incredibly difficult to take the ball from Neymar when he is in control, so the best strategy is to guide him towards one side of the field and attempt to contain him there.
