He goes by Carlos Henrique Casimiro in full. Take note of the extra “I” in the last name. Back in Sao Paulo, a specific kit official made the most simple mistake possible and sent the midfielder out with the name “Casemiro” instead of “Casimiro” written on his shirt.

In an interview with Football Focus, Casemiro disclosed that he is superstitious about such things and chose to keep wearing the incorrect name because he performed well in that game.

“I’m a superstitious person, but I performed pretty well in that game. Just leave it like that, since things are going well, I told them.

“I am Carlos Henrique Casimiro, therefore the name stayed. It was a mistake made in one game, so I said, “Let it alone; there’s no need to change anything.

There is no denying the difference Casemiro has made since joining United on the field, even though such superstitions aren’t for everyone.

While seeing the Red Devils’ 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford at the beginning of the season, Casemiro joked, “Tell them I’ll fix it” and he has delivered by making United one of the most improved sides in the Premier League.

Ten Hag, the Dutch manager, has heaped praise on him as well, praising his star performance in the FA Cup triumph over Reading, where he scored twice.

He stated: “Casemiro is outstanding. Always taking solid positions in and out of position in front of the back line. He can also handle the ball and make the appropriate pass. As a result, he can speed up the game and score if necessary.”
